Vicky - As the post above says, the redemption value of a Series H or HH bond is its face value - never less, never more. The interest was paid to you every six months starting from 1/79. If you didn't receive it, you may be able to reclaim it now.

If an $500 H Series bond was purchased in 7/1978, what is the cash value? ?$500.00 Will I also collect the interest it gained from purchase to the time they discontinued? Or is it just worth the $500 as stated on the bond?

Hi Kymberly - I'm baffled by your question. I suggest you scroll up and click on the "Ask the Treasury" link on the right.

I have been given a US Treasury award that is dated for 1955 for patriotic service, I need all information on what it may be worth and how to redeem.

We have HH bonds and are considering cashing in. Are there any charges connected with cashing these in?

What interest rate is being paid on these bonds?

Is there a time limit on how long these bonds will pay interest?
