Vicky - As the post above says, the redemption value of a Series H or HH bond is its face value - never less, never more. The interest was paid to you every six months starting from 1/79. If you didn't receive it, you may be able to reclaim it now.

If an $500 H Series bond was purchased in 7/1978, what is the cash value? ?$500.00 Will I also collect the interest it gained from purchase to the time they discontinued? Or is it just worth the $500 as stated on the bond?

We have HH bonds and are considering cashing in. Are there any charges connected with cashing these in?

What interest rate is being paid on these bonds?

Is there a time limit on how long these bonds will pay interest?
