An op-ed in today’s New York Times, Save the Savings Bond, by Fred T. Goldberg Jr. and Peter Tufano, argues that rather than eliminating Savings Bonds, the Treasury should be expanding the program
Goldberg was commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service from 1989 to 1992. Tufano is the dean of the Saïd Business School at Oxford University and did the initial research that led to the Savings Bonds via tax refund program.
